From May 01, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”, has registered to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer the following enterprises:
1. “GTM Group” LTD
2. “Rutavi Steel” LTD
3. “Geosteel” LTD
4. “IT LAB” LTD
5. “Chiaturmanganum Georgia” LTD
6. “Rustavi Azot” JSC
7. “Rusalloys” LTD
8. „RMG Copper” JSC
9. “Heidelbergcement Georgia” LTD
10.“Blockpower” LTD
From April 25, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “SVANETI HYDRO” JSC (in the part of MESTIACHALA 1 HPP) to take part in the wholesale trade as Power Plant - During The Test Run And/Or Complex Testing, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From April 30, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Georgian Energy Trading Company” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
On April 23, the Electricity Market Operator held a business meeting with the Transmission System Operator of Japan – TEPCO.
The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize with the current model of the Georgian electricity market and the terms of the contract for guaranteed purchase of electricity.
From April 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “GEO POWER” Ltd to take part in the wholesale trade as importer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From May 01, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “Blockpower” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as Direct Customer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From April 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ENERGIA X” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as electricity wholesale supplier, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From April 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ENERGIA X” Ltd to take part in the wholesale trade as importer, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
From April 22, 2019, the Electricity Market Operator has registered the “ENERGIA X” LTD to take part in the wholesale trade as exporter, in accordance with the “Electricity (Capacity) Market Rules”.
Georgian Government Decree N144, March 25, 2019, "On the Approval of Mandatory Criteria For the Direct Consumers of Electricity" has introduced the amendment made to the Decree №18 of January 28, 2019 of the Government of Georgia. According to the amendment Mandatory Criteria for the Direct Consumers of Electricity were determined. According to the Decree large consumers, which meet mandatory criteria defined by the above-mentioned Decree, must be registered as Direct Consumers of Electricity no later than May 01, 2019.
